What is hypnotherapy and how does it work?
Hypnotherapy is a therapeutic application of hypnosis, guided by a trained hypnotherapist. It is not a mystical or "woo-woo" experience - it is rooted in psychology and science. Here is how it works:
1. During a session, you are guided into a deeply relaxed state. This process allows your body and mind to feel at ease.
2. In this relaxed state, your mind becomes more open to suggestions and ideas, allowing you to explore thoughts and feelings that may be not accessible in your everyday waking state.
3. The hypnotherapist uses therapeutic approaches to help address issues like anxiety, self-doubt or old though patterns. Clients often find that they can breakthrough mental blocks and gain clarity - leading to positive change.
Is hypnotherapy safe?
Absolutely! Hypnotherapy is a safe and beneficial technique when practised by a qualified professional.
It is not mind control, nor does it involve losing consciousness. You might drift off to sleep, especially when your body and mind have been in a prolonged state of stress, but my role is to gently bring you back and continue with therapy. You remain aware and in control throughout the process and I would never do anything you don't agree with.
Are there any limitations to who you work with?
Yes, while hypnotherapy can benefit many, there are certain individuals I do not work with, including:
Those suffering from psychosis or severe mental disorders.
Individuals with deep clinical depression or other serious psychiatric conditions.
People with certain medical conditions, such as epilepsy or sever cardiovascular issues.
Children, unless under special circumstances agreed beforehand.
